Interview tips

Questions healthcare support employers really ask

Tap a question to see how to answer. Want more? Read our full interview guide.

Why do you want to work in care?
Give a real, short reason: a person you cared for, or why helping people matters to you.
How would you handle a client who refuses help?
Stay calm, respect their choice, try again gently, and report it to the nurse or supervisor.
How do you protect a patient's privacy?
Only share with the care team, never on phones or social media. Mention PHIPA, Ontario's health privacy law, if you know it.
Tell me about a hard day at work.
Show what you did, who you asked for help, and how you took care of yourself after.
Do you have questions for us?
Ask about client load, shift length and orientation.
