Jobs we help with

Common transport and warehouse jobs and what you need

AZ / DZ truck driver

Drive tractor-trailers (AZ) or straight trucks (DZ) on local or long routes.

You need: Ontario AZ or DZ licence, a clean driver's abstract and a CVOR-friendly record.

Delivery driver

Deliver parcels or goods around the city in a van or small truck.

You need: G licence, a clean record, and good knowledge of GTA roads.

Warehouse worker / material handler

Pick, pack, load and unload, scan and move stock.

You need: Safety boots, steady pace and reliability. Forklift training is a big plus.

Shipper / receiver

Check what comes in and goes out, paperwork and scanners.

You need: Careful counting, basic computer use, often forklift.

What employers ask for

Get these right and you get the call

  • A clean driver's abstract (you can order it from ServiceOntario) for any driving job.
  • Forklift training. Ontario law requires trained, competent operators; employers check you on their own lift, but a past certificate gets you in the door.
  • Steel-toe safety boots and WHMIS training on day one.
  • Showing up: reliability matters more than anything in warehouse work.
  • For AZ drivers, years of experience and the kinds of loads you have hauled.

Interview tips

Questions transport and warehouse employers really ask

Tap a question to see how to answer. Want more? Read our full interview guide.

How is your driving record?
Be honest and bring a recent abstract. If there is a ticket, say what happened and what you changed.
What do you check in a pre-trip inspection?
Walk through it in order: lights, tires, brakes, air lines, coupling, load. It shows you are safe.
Can you work early mornings, nights or weekends?
Say exactly which shifts you can do. Clear answers get hired faster than "anything".
Tell me about working safely.
Give one real example: lifting right, wearing gear, reporting a hazard.
Do you have questions for us?
Ask about the route or shift, the start time and how overtime works.
